• God wants to bless you with things better than money

Have you claimed the riches God has promised you today? Take time to think about the blessings God has placed in your life. You might be missing a few.

    Read: Proverbs 3:1-18

It is said that God doesn’t have favorites, but He does have intimates. In fact, as it teaches in Psalms, “the Lord confides in those who fear Him” (Psalm 25:14). For those who put their trust in Him, the Lord reveals wonderful things. And as this passage teaches, He makes available incredible riches. Many people appear to teach that God cares about our spiritual life, but that He is detached from our physical life. That is just not so. As this proverb plainly states, “My son (or daughter), do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. (vs 1-2). God is not just talking “spiritual” prosperity in this chapter, although that is clearly evident (vs 4, 6, and 13). He is also talking physical riches. Just look – if you keep His commands and trust in the Lord, He will give you energy (v 7-8), abundance (v 9-10), discipline, and instruction (v 11-12). God wants to bless you. He wants to pour out His promises on you (Matthew 7:11). And all it takes is a willing heart (v 1), love (v 3), and trust in Him (v 4).

Loving Lord, thank you for the staggering blessings you have made available to me. Teach me to trust you and to learn to be an intimate follower of you. Besides the gift of your salvation, what is the greatest blessing God has given you? Do you believe you have unclaimed riches? The definition of unclaimed is: untaken, not demanded or requested as being something one has a right to.

  • When the angel of death visited Egypt, only those whose doorposts were painted with lamb’s blood were protected from ‘the destroyer’. And the blood of Jesus [the Lamb of God] is still your best protection from the enemy who ‘…prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour’ (1 Peter 5:8 NLT). One author writes: ‘When [satan] sees a person or home that’s covered by the blood…he moves on. He’d rather find easy prey than mess with one who belongs to the Lord. Just like a robber prefers someone who is unaware of his surroundings, is not paying attention, and appears weak, the enemy chooses his victims based on what seems like a sure thing. Make him look elsewhere… cover your home and loved ones with the…blood of Jesus.’ God put a hedge around Gomer, the prophet Hosea’s wife, to protect her from adulterous relationships and draw her back to her husband. He said, ‘…I will fence her in with thorn bushes. I will block her path with a wall to make her lose her way’ (Hosea 2:6 NLT). Before your family leaves home in the morning, ask God to place His hedge of divine protection around them, to safeguard them throughout the day and block their path from wrong influences. God has given you authority over satan, so tell him: ‘You’ve no right to harm my loved ones in any way. I take authority over you in the Name of Jesus and through the power of the blood. I declare null and void any strategies and schemes you’ve planned.
